Stop talking over us! We hear you all the time. We hear you talk about us academically as if we’re not in the room. You tell us how much you know about trans people (and are usually wrong). You tell us how you’re such a good ally while getting our pronouns wrong. You tell us how to be trans. You give us unwanted advice on how to like like a “real [insert gender].” You say you need/want a place to speak but you have THE WORLD.

Most annoying shit ever, when people tell me if I wore makeup, I’d look more like a girl. Fuck them, If I want to wake up, throw my hair in a pony tail, throw on my dyke clothes and head to school, then I’ll do that.

I had my braces put on a year before I started hormones. In six months (about two years of HRT, and possibly a trachea shave and rhinoplasty) I’m going to have them taken off. They do comparison pictures between before and after. I can’t wait to see what it looks like. xD

It’s a Gay Thing: The fight between trans and cis people

i-told-you-im-a-psycho:

gaynotqueer:

the-lazy-feminist:

I, myself, am cis and this is only coming from my experience with my girlfriend (who is not) and what I’ve researched.

There’s a really huge thing going on between these two groups and I don’t know… I don’t think that there should be any hatred between the two groups because what people who are…

Trans people invented the term “cis” to describe the rest of us. Trans vs. cis was started by them when they coined a term to disparage the reality of biological (particularly female) sex.

Let me direct you to this enlightening piece of information:

“Cisgender has its origin in the Latin-derived prefix cis, meaning ‘to/this the near side,’ which is antonymous with the Latin-derived prefix ‘trans.’”

As well,

In chemistry, cis- refers to cis-trans isomerism.

But wait, there’s more!

In molecular biology, cis- refers to cis-acting.

The prefix ‘cis-’ was not made up by the trans* community.

Volkmar Sigusch, a German sexologist has been mentioned as possibly being one of the first people to use the term cissexual (which I suppose is synonymous with cisgender), used it in the early- to mid-90’s in an essay. I don’t think he was trans*. Sorry.

Whoa whoa whoa, I’m completely not trashing the trans community by saying that there shouldn’t be anything as cisgendered, and I really don’t care about the origin of the term or why anyone invented it or what. I just think that trans people have every right to be treated as the gender that they are, and cis people shouldn’t be held any higher for biologically being their gender.

I am trans and what is tihs
